Gmail’s Latest Feature – Undo Send Mail

Are you really undoing a sent mail?

No, you are not. There are a few things that are impossible and this is one of those. The new ‘Undo Send’ button holds an email for five seconds once you click the send button.

What has Gmail brought in this feature?

According to Google, the purpose of this feature is to allow Gmail users to recall emails that are

Sent to the wrong person
Have the wrong subject heading
Missing a file attachment

Quoting Michael Leggett, Gmail user experience designer, “This feature can’t pull back an email that’s already gone; it just holds your message for five seconds so you have a chance to hit the panic button. And don’t worry – if you close Gmail or your browser crashes in those few seconds, we’ll still send your message.” Leggett also gives us little insight on why this new feature came into being - “An email to the wrong Larry pushed me over the edge. I could undo just about any other action in Gmail-why couldn’t I undo send? My theory (which others shared) was that even five seconds would be enough time to catch most of those regrettable emails.”

How do I activate this feature?

To add the Undo Send feature to your Gmail account, turn on the ‘Undo Send’ option in Gmail Labs under Settings and you will see a new ‘Undo’ link at the end of every sent mail confirmation.

If you click on ‘Undo,’ then Gmail will take you right back to compose mode.

Google Chrome Inspired by Microsoft Windows

Was the Google Chrome Browser inspired by Microsoft Windows? This cool drawing by Federico Fieni suggests so. It seems the colors and combo were used and been Googled just like presented.

For those not familiar with the new browser, the Google Chrome browser released earlier this year has been receiving various feedback and upgrades. Although it is a quick Internet Browser, there are still more than a few things that individuals are seeking. Some have been provided or promised, such as the ability to change Google Chrome Theme, Block Ads and use Stumble Upon and there is also the hope of Google Chrome with Greasemonkey Support, but I myself am still using Firefox.

The image here though makes us forget about the actual usability and needs and simply puts the browser in a different perspective. Source:Walyou
